Internet boredom

Seriously, what do you normally do online? I figured, we actually don't really do much online. However, signing in into MSN and logging in into Friendster has become part of your's and my daily routines. I was just talking to Dicky about life on the Internet.

Sometimes, I realised I really had hard times trying to continue boring conversation in MSN. It usually happens when either one the users started a lame joke. Then there is a pause. So, when one decided not to type anything. Then the other party also decided to close the conversation, and there, it ends. Dicky calls this kind of pauses the uncomfortable silence. Actually, most people couldn't be bothered to treat this kind of conversations to make it healthier. Chatting in MSN has become more and more meaningless. Nevertheless, there are fruitful conversations being carried out. However, most of them usually starts with a "I am bored, what you doing ah?" and ends of with a "haha". How miserable can chats get?
Dicky told me there are times where he cannot puncture the uncomfortable silence and he'll promptly go "Sorry gtg". For me, I won't say I got to go if I don't want to leave the internet yet. I'd usually say "Brb" & never return to the boring box.
Of course, using the MSN to keep in contact with people further away is still rather useful. However, what is the point of chatting nonsense? Typical questions like "What are you doing now?" are really stupid. You'll get expected answers. If it's not "Online/chatting lor" it'd be "nothing lor". I really believe that this Internet favourite is going to be part of everyone's daily routines. That is because it has already become mine.

Sometimes, I wonder what are the benefits of coming online and doing the usual things.
However, I just do & I have no idea when will this addiction stop.
